Marilyn

So I commented on my classmate Marilyn’s blog this week. She posted a blog about the up and coming halloween weekend as well as it being the Georgia vs. Florida college football game. Her plans seem interesting and a lot more fun than what I’m going to be doing (work). So check it out @ http://marilynpr.wordpress.com/2009/10/29/halloween-georgia-florida-weekend/#comment-34.

Registering for Classes

Registering for classes has always been a hastle. Its either you get in the classes you want or you don’t. But, In order to get the classes you want you have to be one of the select few that get to register early and on top of this you have to register at three a.m. to beat the rush. So, this past recent registration at Georgia Southern University I came to realize that I was not one of these select few. I was not able to sign up for the few must need classes that I needed and due to this I might as well push my graduation back a whole year. Several of my fellow PR classmates ran into the same problem and I have heard several of their own opinions why this is happening: there isn’t enough room in the building that our PR major is held in, the classrooms are tiny, the major is over-crowded, etc. I have came up with my own conclusion: this sucks! But, everyone goes through it once or twice or thrice in their experience at college, I’m just sad to say and admit this is my fice (fifth) time that this has occured.

Dream Job

My dream job, is an amazing one. Being from the beautiful state of Michigan, and being a die-hard detroit sport teams fan, has a lot to do with it. If I could do one thing it would to be a PR professional for the Detroit Red Wings hockey team. I love hockey above every sport and have love the Wings since I could talk. It would be a dream of mine to handle the press and media for the team whether it be good or bad, right or wrong. I would encourage the team to let me sell the team of Detroit in a way that no ads or marketing has done yet. I would urge them to let me sell the teams image for our great state and great city. Everyone seems to only see the negative coming from the so-called recession, I would encourage them to break free of the tension and let the city of Detroit and its strong community members that every time our players hit the ice we play for them, we play for the struggles, their strife, we give them a chance to break away from their problems and enjoy a game that has graced us with several championships, several smiles, and several stress relieving moments. This would be my dream job, to work as a PR professional for the Detroit Red Wings hockey organization.

Well this is a tricky one since my taste in music strectches from every genre possible. But, in the case of who I would like to come perform a GSU it would have to be someone that could bring everyone together on campus, someone that would make everyone bob their heads and lipr-sing the lyrics. This someone for me would have to be Jigga, Hova, Jay-Z. I read Adam’s blog and I realized I’ve been bumoing Jay-Z’s unplugged album featuring The Roots for the past month. Jigga would make everybody love Statesboro, Ga. more than they already do. I can imagine him with shades on telling the crowd to sing the chorus to “Its A Hard Knock Life” with him. Thanking our small town of Statesboro for LETTING him come out, being a true musician and gentlemen while dealing with his profession. Too cool, way too cool. Yet, as Adam also commented we probably and more than likely will never have the chance or oppurtunity to pursue a Jay-Z concert, but I can invision it and let me tell ya it is oh so amazing. For more check out Adam’s blog post and comments at: http://adamrosen00.wordpress.com/2009/10/07/who-i-want-to-come-to-statesboro-to-perform/#comment-20

Entourage

The HBO hit series Entourage is by far my favorite show on the television market at the time. It incorporates several characteristics that make a show a great show: comedy, drama, and even on occasion some action. It is a series based off the character Vincent Chase, an average joe from Queens,┬áNew York, who turns Hollywood movie star. The first step he makes in his fabulous lifestyle is call up his old crew to move out to California and live the good life with him. These people, childhood friends, include Drama (Vince’s brother), Turtle, and Eric (E). The boys run into ups and downs, trials and tribulations throughout the stretch of helping Vince begin and end his career on top. I believe why I enjoy the show so much is that the connection that I feel with the characters and the dream to want a lifestyle that is in every way similar to Vince and his entourage.
